Editorial Board

Prof. Momodu Kassim-Momodu is a distinguished Professor of Law, accomplished legal scholar, arbitrator, management consultant, and senior corporate executive with a distinguished career spanning legal academia, petroleum law, corporate governance, arbitration, regulatory compliance, and institutional leadership. Educated at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, the University of Lagos, Aston University, and the University of Oxford, he brings to the Petroleum Technology Development Journal an exceptional breadth of intellectual, professional, and international experience. His career has encompassed senior management appointments with Gulf Oil and Chevron across Nigeria, the United States, and the United Kingdom, as well as significant academic leadership roles, including service as Dean and Professor of Law. Prof. Kassim-Momodu has taught at the University of Lagos and Crescent University, Abeokuta, and has contributed extensively to scholarly and professional discourse through publications in petroleum law, energy regulation, arbitration, international law, human rights, electoral law, employment law, contracts, and legal theory. He has served on the editorial boards of leading academic and professional journals in law, arbitration, and petroleum studies. He was the pioneer Editor of Petroleum Training Journal in 2001 and has continued to serve as Editor since its transition to the Petroleum Technology Development Journal in June 2010. His current scholarly work examines the limitations of international law in securing effective compliance and advances doctrinal and institutional reforms to strengthen its normative authority and remedial efficacy.

Dr. Kevin Ikponmwosa Idehen, Ph.D., FICCON, FCSN, FPIN, FNES, FCAI, FGMA, MSPE, received his academic training at the University of Benin, Benin City, where he obtained the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Industrial Chemistry in 1983 and 1987, respectively, and later earned a Ph.D. in Polymer Chemistry in 1998. Dr. Idehen has more than thirty years of professional and hands-on technical experience in the petroleum industry, culminating in his retirement in 2019 as a Director at the Petroleum Training Institute. His scholarly and professional contributions include several publications in local and international journals, as well as technical reports arising from commissioned research studies. He has also provided consultancy services to leading organizations, crude oil companies, and oil-servicing firms. In recognition of his contributions, Dr. Idehen has received awards and honour in academia, leadership, and sports, including laurels in lawn tennis. He was the pioneer Deputy Editor of the Petroleum Training Journal in 2001 and has continued to serve as Deputy Editor since its transition to the Petroleum Technology Development Journal in June 2010.

Prof. Cornelius Sunday Nwajide is a distinguished geologist with expertise in sedimentology, stratigraphy and petroleum geology. He earned degrees from the University of Ibadan and the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and began his career with the Geological Survey of Nigeria, contributing to geological mapping, technical publications and staff training. He later joined Shell Nigeria, where he worked in petroleum geology, reservoir characterisation and geoscience training, including Shell’s Special Intensive Training Programme. Prof. Nwajide has also taught sedimentology and supervised postgraduate research at Ahmadu Bello University, the University of Jos and the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. A prolific scholar, he has published over fifty papers and authored major books including Geology of Nigeria’s Sedimentary Basins, Marginal Oil Fields Development and Operation in Nigeria, and Field Sedimentology: From Data to Model. His honours include the NMGS Professor Richard Reyment Medal, NMGS Don Etiebet Prize, NAPE Aret Adams Prize and NMGS Right Hon. Nnamdi Azikiwe Prize. Prof. Nwajide is a member of the Editorial Board of the Petroleum Technology Development Journal.

Ahmadu Nasiru Dannupawa is a member of the Editorial Board of Petroleum Technology Development Journal. He is an experienced administrator, human resources practitioner and institutional leader with several decades of service in management, organisational operations and strategic administration. He holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Economics from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. His career with the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) has advanced through progressively senior roles, including Chief Officer, Deputy Manager, Manager and General Manager. These appointments reflect his expertise in leadership, personnel management, policy implementation and institutional coordination. He has served extensively in PTDF’s Administration and Human Resources functions, contributing to the effective delivery of the Fund’s mandate. In 2026, he was appointed General Manager, Research and Innovation Department. His professional interests include research, innovation, capacity development and knowledge advancement within Nigeria’s energy sector. He is also associated with scholarly and professional publications that support institutional learning and sector-focused development.

Prof I. A. Mohammed-Dabo is a Professor of Chemical Engineering at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and a member of the Editorial Board of the Petroleum Technology Development Journal (PTDJ). He obtained his academic degrees in Chemical Engineering from the prestigious Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas, Moscow, Russian Federation. Before joining Ahmadu Bello University, he worked with the Moscow Oil Refinery, Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas, and the Nigerian Embassy in Moscow. At Ahmadu Bello University, he has served as Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering, Deputy Dean of Students’ Affairs, and Dean of Engineering. His research interests include petroleum refining and petrochemical processing, renewable energy, environmental pollution control, and pilot-plant design and development. He has contributed to technologies for sugarcane-based bioethanol, jatropha-based biodiesel, and cow-dung-based biogas plants, and is the Chief Designer of the first Nigerian-made conventional pilot-scale petroleum refinery at Ahmadu Bello University. Prof. Mohammed-Dabo has supervised more than 70 MSc and PhD students and authored or co-authored over 120 scientific publications. He is a COREN-registered engineer, a Fellow, and a member of several national and international professional societies.

Prof. Maimuna Waziri is a Professor of Analytical and Environmental Chemistry at Federal University Gashua, Nigeria. She served as the 3rd Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Gashua from February 2021 to February 2026, providing leadership in academic development, research advancement, quality assurance, governance, infrastructure growth, and capacity building. Her research interests include environmental pollution and monitoring, sustainability, regulatory science, contaminant assessment, pesticide residues, petroleum products, and the physicochemical and mineralogical characterization of indigenous resources. Her current work focuses on the quality assessment and value addition of indigenous potash resources in Yobe State. Prof. Waziri is a Fellow of the Chemical Society of Nigeria (FCSN) and the Institute of Chartered Chemists of Nigeria (FICCON). She has published scholarly articles, reviewed manuscripts for academic journals, and mentored undergraduate and postgraduate students, researchers, and early-career academics. A member of the PTDJ Editorial Board since 2015, she remains committed to research integrity, scientific quality, interdisciplinary scholarship, and knowledge dissemination for sustainable development, environmental protection, and public health.

Prof. Abdulrahman Abdul Audu is a distinguished scholar of Analytical Chemistry and a member of the Editorial Board of the Petroleum Technology Development Journal (PTDJ). He teaches in the Department of Pure and Industrial Chemistry, Bayero University, Kano. He holds a degree in Chemistry from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and MSc and PhD degrees in Analytical Chemistry from Boston University, Massachusetts, USA. His career spans university teaching, research, industry practice and editorial leadership. Professor Audu held a Nuffield Foundation Fellowship for postdoctoral research on arid and semi-arid environments at the University of Lancaster, United Kingdom, where he later served as Visiting Lecturer. He also received a British Council Training Fellowship in Advanced Instrumentation Techniques at the University of Leeds and the British Council’s African Knowledge Transfer Partnership research fund. He has held senior roles at Unilever Plc and the NASCO Group. His research interests include spectroscopic analysis, gas chromatography, environmental chemistry, water, soil and plant analysis, and advanced instrumentation. He has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications, supervised many BSc, MSc and PhD candidates, served as external examiner for several universities, and is Editor-in-Chief of Chemsearch Journal.

Mrs. Favour Chinekwu Adaure-Prince is a human resource management and research innovation professional with expertise in human capital development, organisational effectiveness, research coordination and capacity building within Nigeria’s energy sector. She serves in the Research and Innovation Department of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF), where she supports research development, programme coordination, stakeholder engagement and institutional initiatives that promote knowledge creation and innovation in the oil and gas industry. She holds an MSc in Human Resource Management from the University of Salford, Manchester, United Kingdom, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma. She is also a doctoral student at the University of Abuja. Her professional affiliations include the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), USA; the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), United Kingdom; and the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM), Nigeria. She brings to the Editorial Board of the Petroleum Technology Development Journal an interdisciplinary perspective on research, innovation, energy transition, digital transformation and future-ready workforce development.

Mrs. Nkechi Ofoegbu is the Administrative Secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Journal (PTDJ) and a Chemical Engineer. She has considerable experience in research, sustainable energy, environmental engineering, process safety, and knowledge development. She currently works in the Research and Development Division of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF), Nigeria, where she supports research, capacity-building, and knowledge-dissemination initiatives within the energy sector. She is pursuing a PhD in Chemical Engineering at the University of Leeds, United Kingdom, with research focused on sustainable energy and green alternatives to fossil fuels for transportation applications. Nkechi holds an MSc in Advanced Chemical Engineering with Biotechnology from Imperial College London, United Kingdom, and a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Nigeria. Her interests include alternative fuels, environmental sustainability, renewable energy, process safety, scientific publishing, and the application of chemical engineering principles to energy and environmental challenges. Her professional background includes roles in safety engineering for solar installation projects and environmental engineering in Qatar. Through her multidisciplinary academic and industry experience, she is committed to promoting rigorous scholarship, effective editorial coordination, and the dissemination of high-quality research that advances sustainable energy, engineering, and development.
